Zikra

Privacy policy

Effective 29 October 2026

Zikra is a private place to keep your memories and to give the right ones to the right people at the right time. Because what you keep here is personal, this policy explains plainly what we collect, why, where it is kept, who can access it, and how you can take it with you or delete it.

1. Who we are

Zikra (“Zikra”, “we”, “us”) is operated by W.D.W Who Dares Wins Ltd. For anything about your privacy, write to privacy@zikra.ai.

2. What we collect

People you addNames, email addresses and relationships of recipients and trusted contactsOnly to deliver to them and to run the process you set up
Device and appDevice type, operating system, app version, notification tokensTo run the app and send the notifications you allow

Photo library. If you let Zikra suggest memories from your photo library, it reads only when photos were taken, whether they are photos or videos, and a coarse place label if your library has one. This happens on your phone; nothing from your library leaves the device unless you choose to keep a photo as a memory. Zikra does not recognise faces or identify people.

We do not sell your data, we do not show advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. Where your data is kept, and how it is protected

Your account and memories are stored with Google Cloud (Firebase) in its Tel Aviv region. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Zikra is not end-to-end encrypted: that design would make it impossible to recover your account if you forget your password, to prepare thumbnails, or to deliver memories to the people you chose.

So you know exactly who could access your content:

WhoWhat they could accessHow it is controlled
Google Cloud (our hosting provider)Encrypted stored data; in principle, plaintext through its infrastructureGoogle’s own security controls and access transparency
Zikra’s automated servicesThe data needed to prepare previews and deliver memoriesLeast-privilege service accounts; access is logged
Zikra staff with production accessCould technically read stored dataLimited to a small number of named people, audit logging on, and no internal tool for browsing anyone’s memories
Legal authoritiesData we are lawfully compelled to discloseWe disclose only what a valid legal order requires and tell you when the law allows

4. Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our instructions:

  • Google (Firebase / Google Cloud) — hosting, database, file storage, sign-in, crash reporting and notifications.
  • Apple and Google — app distribution, sign-in with Apple or Google, and payments when paid plans are offered.

As we add an email provider and a subscription provider, we will list them here before they process any of your data.

5. People you add

When you add a recipient or a trusted contact, you share their name, email address and relationship with us. We use it only to contact them for the purpose you set up: a trusted contact is asked to accept when you nominate them; a recipient is contacted only when a memory is shared with them or released to them, and receives a notice explaining Zikra at that point. Anyone you add can ask us to erase their details by writing to privacy@zikra.ai.

6. The legacy process, and after death

Zikra does not detect or determine death. If you set up a legacy plan, Zikra watches for a long period without any activity from you, reminds you, and asks the trusted contacts you chose before anything is released. Any single check-in from you stops the process, and nothing is released within 60 days of your last verified activity.

After your death, your wishes as recorded in Zikra govern: each recipient receives only what you addressed to them. Memories you marked private are never released to anyone, including family members or an executor, unless a valid legal order requires it.

7. How long we keep data

  • Account and memories — for as long as you keep your account; deleted when you delete it (see below).
  • Memories released to recipients — for the preservation term described in our terms of use.
  • Crash reports — about 90 days.
  • Security and audit records (which never contain the content of memories) — up to 2 years.
  • Billing records, when paid plans exist — as long as tax law requires.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Access and copy. You can download your memories from the app (Settings → Download everything).
  • Correct. You can edit anything you keep, at any time.
  • Delete. You can delete your account in the app, or ask us to — see Delete your account.
  • Notifications and permissions. You choose which notifications you get, and you can withdraw photo, microphone or notification permission in your phone’s settings at any time.
  • Other rights. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, including to object, to restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to privacy@zikra.ai and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

Zikra is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has an account, tell us at privacy@zikra.ai and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
